Walk in the heart of Baroque Rome, with a special attention to the many Gelaterias (Gelato Parlours) and the way freshly artisanal Gelato is made.
Starting from the Trevi Fountain, the monumental celebration of the Virgin Aqueduct where thousands of tourists toss their coins and their whishes in every day, we will walk to Piazza di Spagna to admire the beautiful “Spanish Steps” designed in 1722 by Francesco de Sanctis, but only after paying a visit to the famous Gelateria di San Crispino and, after the Steps to the Famous Pompi to try the best Tiramisú in the City! After crossing the XIX century Galleria Colonna, we’ll visit then Piazza Colonna, named after the Column in honour of the Emperor Marcus Aurelius. We will stroll to Piazza Montecitorio,
once a palace, it is now used by the Italian Parliament to pay a visit to a former Dairy Shop which was the very first Gelateria in Rome “Giolitti”. From there we will visit the Piazza Sant’Ignazio, beautiful “rococò” square and the Jesuit renaissance church with the illusionist dome by Andrea Pozzo. We’ll enter the Pantheon with its huge ancient Roman ome and the grave of the great Italian artist Raphael. And Yes, it is time for Gelato Again, Della Palma, Fiocco di Neve and La Cremeria, some of the best and most famous are only a stone throw away from each other. From there the Church of St. Louis of France, with the famous canvases by Caravaggio and the eclectic dome of Saint Ivo alla Sapienza by Borromini. Our tour finish off with Piazza Navona and its famous fountain of the Four Rivers designed by Bernini for the Pope Innocent X Pamphilj, but if you didn’t had enough we’ll show you one more hidden in the cobbled streets of Rome, the Gelateria del Teatro!
