Pompeii and Amalfi Coast Day Trip from Naples Program

Founded in the 7th century B.C., Pompeii captivates historians and visitors alike. While Rome reveals the grandeur of Roman monumental architecture, Pompeii offers a vivid portrayal of their daily life. Established as a Roman colony in 80 B.C., Pompeii thrived with the construction of grand temples, villas, and palaces. However, in 63 A.D., a devastating earthquake struck, leading to extensive rebuilding efforts.

Just as the city was regaining its former glory, Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79 A.D., entombing Pompeii under layers of molten lava and ash. Tragically, around two thousand inhabitants perished, suffocated by the acrid smoke. Today, you can witness the hauntingly preserved bodies, frozen in their final moments. Our Pompeii tour includes the Amphitheatre, the army barracks, several temples, shops, and important surviving frescoes.

Following the Pompeii visit, we will drive along the breathtaking Sorrentine and Amalfi Coasts. Enjoy lunch and a leisurely stroll by the Mediterranean Sea, followed by a visit to either Sorrento or Positano, where you can indulge in shopping and savoring gelato before returning to Rome.
