Guided tour of Naples' treasures
Embark on a walking tour that unveils some of Naples' most treasured hidden gems, beginning at the Pio Monte della Misericordia, an institution founded by seven young Neapolitans in 1601.
This historic palace and its 17th-century church house a vast collection of artistic heritage. Notably, it includes one of Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio's most renowned masterpieces, alongside an impressive array of paintings from various schools and periods. Our journey continues along Via dei Tribunali, reminiscent of the ancient Roman Decumanus, where we will admire several masterpieces. Highlights include Luca Giordano’s "Cacciata dei Mercanti dal Tempio" in the Girolamini Church, the Madonna dell’Arco, and Mattia Preti’s paintings in the Church of S. Pietro a Maiella. Optionally, we can visit Sammartino’s "Cristo Velato" in the Sansevero Chapel, a masterpiece of 18th-century architecture. This tour will guide you through some of the most evocative palaces and churches in the city's heart, culminating with a visit to the Baroque Church of Gesù Nuovo.
The tour concludes at Piazza del Plebiscito.
