Amalfi old center Private Guided Walking Tour

Today Amalfi it's a world-famous little coastal Italian town, visited mainly for its dramatic scenery and views. Founded by the Romans as a small fishermen's community, it became a fortress in the Byzantine era, and it rose to fame in the Middle Ages, when it was one of the "Repubbliche Marinare", one of a group of city-states, together with Venice, Genoa, and Pisa, to dominate trade over the Mediterranean sea.

Our Private Walking tour starts from the Fontana di Sant'Andrea, Saint Andrew's Fountain, right in front of the Famous Duomo, where all the little alleyways busy with shops, artisans, cafes, and visitors start. We will learn the secrets of this beautiful coastal town, and visit the Duomo and its marvelous Cloister, among other things.

Please note that the Duomo hosts several services and masses, so it's not always open to the public, entrance to the Cloister is not included and costs euros 3 per person payment cash on the day.

Oggi Amalfi è nota per essere una piccola pittoresca cittadina affacciata sul mare Tirreno, la bellezza sorprendente attira ogni anno mioltisdsimi visitatori da ogni angolo del mondo. Fondata in epoca Romana e poi roccaforte Bizantina, Amalfi divenne una delle quattro Repubbliche Marinare che dominarono dal punto di vista non solo commericale ma anche culturale, il Mediterraneo durante il medioevo.

Il nostro tour inizia dala Fontana di Sant'Andrea, proprio davanti al Duomo, dove iniziano le varie stradine ch esi inerpicano nel centro della cittadina. In circa due ore gireremo il centro storico visitando  tutte le attrazioni che Amalfi offre ai suoi turisti, a partire dal particolare Duomo, davvero imperdibile.
